Fall is here, and my old casa is for sale
Wednesday, 8 October 2008
Now back from a short but awesome trip to Santa Fe, NM. We went to a wedding for our friends Olivia and Jeff, hung out with two beautiful young boys named Max and Henry, and saw the early snow fall onto the changing aspen trees at the Santa Fe Ski Basin. Nick Toll cooked us an awesome meal made entirely with vegies he grew at a farm in Chimayo. The mellow southwest vibe is still with me, but its a mixed blessing for the pace of the city. Glad to be home but bummed to leave my awesome family and easy going hometown.
This may have been the last time I stayed at the house I grew up in…

Zack Vieira Portfolio : BAVC Elements 2.0
Thursday, 11 September 2008
After teaching 8 months of adult education and custom technology classes at the Bay Area Video Coalition, I was asked to help develop an extended new program for young adults called “Elements“. It first began with the idea of doing four separate cycles: Web Design, Game Development, Audio Production, and Film/Video Production. After few revisions the game portion fell by the waste side and the remaining three became the foundation for a comprehensive training program that has now completed its second cycle.
In cycle 2, different from the first cycle, Artist/Musician, Zack Vieira became the client and focus of the group portfolio. Zack’s recorded two tracks with Sound Arts and will continue the development of his debut solo release. With their new skill-sets, the 8 talented students created a complete portfolio package of Zack’s work, top to bottom: CD packaging, flyers, t-shirt designs, a mini documentary, a music video and remixed track, flash banners, and a total website design.
These students are now actively working and applying for jobs in the industry and would make great candidates for entry level creative positions and internships with media makers and companies in the Bay Area.
Check out their stuff, get em involved and take them to the next level!
